 GED – High School Equivalency

The GED program consists of 5 components:  Language Arts Part 1 (Writing Skills – writing mechanics), Language Arts Part 2 (Writing Skills – essay writing), Social Studies, Science and Mathematics.

The GED accreditation is recognized by many employers as criteria for hiring and by some community colleges as entry into programs of higher learning.  The Muskoka Literacy Council offers help to students to prepare to take this test.

The test itself is not written at the Muskoka Literacy Council but at various locations throughout Ontario.  To take the GED test, applicants must be out of public school for at least one year. Enter GED into your favorite browser. Or, as a start you may want to visit: www.nald.ca
