English as a Second Language (ESL)

The Muskoka Literacy Council provides culturally-sensitive tutoring in English as a Second Language (ESL) at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. Our program is geared to students' needs and goals and may include preparation for an application for citizenship, targeted workplace vocabulary and communication, or preparation for employment.

	Tutoring may be one-on-one or small groups lessons
	Real-life learning materials help students to be comfortable in Canada
	Students who are computer-literate are also directed to ESL internet sites for self- study

Lessons develop the following skills with targeted practice and an emphasis on correct grammatical structure:

	Conversation
	Pronunciation
	Listening
	Reading
	Writing
